Do I need to upgrade my radiator or just replace it with a standard one?
In most cases, replacing the standard radiator with a new standard type is adequate. If your radiator is undamaged but the engine runs hot, then an upgrade is required to achieve better cooling performance.
How often should the coolant be replaced?
Coolants vary in their recommended service life. Natrad stocks high-quality Adrad brand coolant that can provide 3, 5 or even 8 years of protection depending on the formulation.
What causes cooling system overheating?
The cooling system has many parts that work together. If one fails, it can result in overheating. For example, a stuck thermostat or a blocked radiator or a failed EGR cooler or a coolant leak could all result in the engine running hot.
It’s not always simple to locate the cause of the problem so it’s best to have a Natrad cooling system specialist examine the vehicle for you.
Can modern radiators be fixed instead of replacing them?
Modern cars use Aluminium radiators with plastic tanks. If the plastic tank is broken, it can be replaced but this requires the radiator to be removed first.
The time and cost to remove and replace the plastic radiator tank can be more than a new complete radiator, so it makes sense to fit a new one. If the Aluminium core is damaged, it cannot be repaired, so a new radiator is needed.
