If you’re the owner of an older car, it’s probably fitted with a copper/ brass radiator rather than a modern aluminium radiator. Original replacement copper radiators and upgraded designs for better cooling performance are available at your Natrad workshop.
A copper/brass radiator has the advantage of being relatively easy and less expensive to repair with soldering equipment. Copper-brass radiators are also more tolerant of poor water quality, so they can cope better with rough outback use.
At Natrad, we can undertake copper radiator repair. We have an assortment of brass radiator repair parts, and all the expertise necessary to get your copper/brass radiator running as good as new.

Natrad supply a wide range of sturdy copper brass radiators to provide effective cooling for cars, 4WD's and machinery in all conditions. Though much heavier than plastic aluminium radiators, copper / brass radiators can often be repaired not replaced when damaged.
Copper / brass radiators can also be used to replace aluminium bar & plate radiators in earth-moving equipment as they have higher tolerance to stress and chemical corrosion.
Copper-brass radiators can even be engineered for high performance racing applications. The Super Louvre copper/brass (SLC) radiator features 6mm super-low profile fin with high-efficiency louvres and hemmed edges for extra strength. The SLC radiator provides higher performance cooling in the same core size. This three-row copper cooling system is just 42.5mm, much more space-efficient than the older copper designs, allowing you to upgrade with copper in the limited space of a modern vehicle.

If you own an older vehicle, the original radiator may be a copper / brass radiator. While a copper radiator is usually heavier than a modern plastic aluminium radiator, it has the advantage of being easy and inexpensive to repair.
Copper-brass radiators are used in passenger vehicles, 4WD’s and light trucks. The metals are less brittle and less prone to damage by electrolysis than alloy, surviving in environments with vibration and high thermal cycling.
Ask your Natrad specialist about the copper / brass radiator replacement and upgrade options for your specific application.
Yes, provided you follow the installation instructions including performing a stray current check, flushing the cooling system and correctly disposing of waste coolant. Failure to follow installation instructions will void the warranty.
Unlike a plastic aluminium radiator, tanks on a copper-brass radiator can be repeatedly removed allowing the radiator core to be cleared of any blockages. Small leaks can be patched by soldering the brass tubes, quickly returning the radiator to service.
Always ensure that the correct coolant for the vehicle is used, and that coolant is changed at intervals as recommended by the manufacturer. Getting your cooling system checked annually by a qualified technician will ensure that you are aware of any issues before they develop into major problems.
When correctly fitted, your copper radiator from Natrad has a three year warranty.
Keen 4WD owners may choose a copper radiator over a plastic-aluminium radiator because it’s properties make it easier to repair and maintain in the outback:
Plus you can upgrade to a more efficient copper / brass radiator. For example, you could replace an original Landcruiser 70 series radiator with an aftermarket SLC unit from Natrad that contains 90 more tubes than the original design, offering much better cooling in the same size dimensions.
Yes, Natrad can supply Super Louvre Copper radiators designed for effective, compact cooling performance. These radiators typically contain a lot more tubes than the original (OE) copper / brass radiator for enhanced cooling.
