What are the signs that my EGR cooler is bad or faulty?
A blocked or leaking EGR cooler can cause engine overheating. White smoke from the exhaust, loss of coolant, and the check engine light coming on are all common signs to look out for.
How long do EGR coolers usually last for before they need replacing?
The service life of the EGR Cooler may vary depending on driving conditions. Most diesel engines benefit from longer driving at highway speeds when the exhaust heats up enough to help burn away soot and deposits.
Can driving with a faulty EGR cooler damage my engine?
Yes it can. If coolant is being lost, the engine and transmission may overheat which can cause damage.
Does a larger intercooler work better?
